Key learning outcomes
|
The bachelor's study programme provides students with solid survey knowledge of art history; it enables students to comprehend artefacts of all art disciplines, including painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, and applied arts from the prehistoric era, Middle Ages, Early Modern times, the nineteenth and twentieth ies, up til the contemporary era. Students learn basic research skills and methodology of art history; they learn to evaluate, describe, analyse and interpret visual art objects in the context of history, determine the art period and the cultural context. Special attention is given to the historical development of arts in Europe, the Czech lands and Moravia.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples
|
The graduates of the Bachelor's programme in Art History qualified to work as art history specialists in museums, galleries and national heritage institutes in state, private and non-profit sectors. They are trained to interpret different art monuments and artefacts such as paintings, sculptures, drawings, architecture, photographs, new media and crafts, ranging from prehistory to the present time. They can also apply for further Master's degree programmes.
