Learning outcomes
|
Students will learn in detail about painting from Charles IV´s era, the most significant period of Czech medieval art. The development of style won´t be the unique point of view, iconography and cultural as political context will be taken into consideration. The focal poit will lie on the artworks which have the connection with the ruler or with his circle. Also the historiography of "Carolinian studies" will be mentioned.
The absolvent will be well versed in the bohemian painting of the 2nd half of 14th century, he will recognize the main tendencies ad iconography. He/ she will be familiar with main painters and theirs artworks and with the up to now research.
