Course content |
Each chapter is dedicated to an artist, in some cases, a specific direction or periods suggested topics ranging from painting and sculpture to architecture. Teaching approach focuses first on short activities supporting the already acquired knowledge, followed by a facilitated reading of texts. As introductions presentations of works, as well as deepening lyrics have a simple syntax, but they are rich in thematic content. A glossary provides useful information to understand the context. Special attention is paid to the technical vocabulary, for which each chapter provides exercises or short games. Space is given also the grammar.

Learning outcomes |
Third semestr of Italian two-semester course for students majoring in Theory and History of Fine Arts, which focuses on the parallel development of general and professional language. In general, to deepen the grammatical structures and vocabulary to the overall development of communicative and cognitive skills. Professional part involves working with different types of scientific texts and learning vocabulary. After successful completion of the course the students will reach full output level B1/B2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages. All the necessary materials, homework, etc. will be hung in Moodle.
Comprehensive development of all language skills - speaking, listening comprehension, reading, writing. Acquisition of basic vocabulary related to art history and working with various kinds of specialized texts. After successful completion of the whole course, the students will achieve target level of B1/B2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. |
Prerequisites |
The course is primarily designated for students of History of Art. The lecturer may allow other students to enrol for the course provided they are interested in learning specialized vocabulary and grammar found in current texts in Italian related to art history. Language level - Lower Intermediate Italian - A2. The course is not designated for complete beginners.

Credit - requirements for granting certification: 1. Course attendance - maximum of 2 absences. . 2. Active participation in the classes, regular home preparation, written home assignments/credit works. 3. Passing final test at the end of semester. |
