Key learning outcomes
|
The basic goal of this study programme is to train experts for a general archaeological preservation who will be able to prepare, realize and document a field archaeological survey, to distinguish and safeguard archaeological finds, use archaeological prospection methods, be familiarised with the options in interdisciplinary cooperation as well as archaeological preservation. They will assist with documentation, records, processing and evaluation of excavated materials. They will be prepared to work in institutes dealing with archaeological excavations, historic preservation and in museums. The other objective of this programme is also to train new specialists for archaeological institutes in Central Moravia and so that to support quicker research processing of regional archaeological surveys. In comparison with the double-major study programme, a single-major study programme is enriched with some courses and training or specialized lectures from archaeology and interdisciplinary fields. It is more focused on the individual student's work (e.g. writing term and seminar papers, making presentations of student's own results etc.). The requirements for the practical part are also increased by implementing of archaeological prospection lessons, more training in a field archaeological survey and practice in an archaeological laboratory as well as practical training with archaeological materials. Studying a foreign language has been also incorporated into the study programme of the single-major study programme.
