Course content
Lectures: Kalábková : 1. Introduction into the issue - the characteristics of the period , major developments , periodization of Central European Neolithic and Eneolithic age, Neolithic and Eneolithic society and its religiosity . 2. The culture of the people of the Linear Pottery - the current state of knowledge; settlement structure ; analysis of settlements, types of housing facilities; examples of the discovered materials, burial grounds and evidence of burials in settlements; periodization . 3. Šárka type,Zeliezov type,Bükk culture - current state of knowledge, structure of settlement; analysis of settlements, types of housing facilities; examples of the excavated material, burial grounds and evidence of burials in settlements; periodization. 4.Printing culture and cultural Polgársk cultural circuit - the current state of knowledge of the cultural complex, settlement structure, analysis of settlements, issue of knoll settlement positions, types of housing facilities , demonstration of excavated material; documents of funeral rite. Periodization . 5.The culture of the people of Stroked pottery - the current state of knowledge; settlement structure ; analysis of settlements, types of housing facilities ; example of the excavated material, burial grounds and evidence of burials in settlements; periodization. Rössen culture. 6. Lengyel cultural complex - the current state of knowledge of the cultural complex, settlement structure, analysis of settlements, issues of settlements in knoll positions, types of settlemental objects, Socio-cult architecture, an example of discovered materials; documents of funeral rite. Periodization. 7. Funnel Beaker Culture - documents the current state of knowledge of the culture, structure of settlements, analysis of settlements, analysis of fortified settlements in high knoll possitions, lowland settlements; analysis of the burial rite ? tumuli, possible flat burial lands, burials n the settlements; examples of the discovered material. Periodization . Michelsberk, Furchenstich 8. Middle Eneolithic - the Baden cultural complex. The material content of each phase, settlements and fortified settlements, burial lands. Periodization.

Learning outcomes
Acknowledgement with the problematics of neolitic and eneolitic habitation of Central Europe.... Characteristics of particular archaeological cultures; settlement structures and strategies, characteristics of settlements, burial rite and the world of ideas; periodization. AD
Detailed knowledge of the archeology of the Neolithic and Eneolithic age in Central Europe. Orientation in the expert literature for a given period and for the chosen issues. Knowledge of publishing of and expertal essay. AD
Prerequisites
The basic overview in the archeological cultures of Central Europe during neolit and eneolit. AD

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Essay, Seminar Work

Participation in the seminars, orientation in issues, knowledge of the scientific literature and of the excavated material of particular cultures, publishment of proffisional essay on a selected topic and its presentation at the seminar. AD
