Key learning outcomes | The study of the bachelor's program Nanomaterial Chemistry aims to equip the graduate with extensive theoretical knowledge of basic chemical disciplines (inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry and analytical chemistry) and practical skills in experimental methods of chemistry necessary for work in a chemical laboratory or chemical practice. The graduate will also acquire specific theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of chemistry and physics of chemical substances necessary for the preparation, functionalization, modification, instrumental characterization and application of nanostructured materials in modern technologies and industry. Emphasis is also placed on the ability to use the English language in professional and chemical practice and to communicate professional problems at a high level, which is currently one of the basic prerequisites for the employment of a university graduate in practice. Students have the opportunity to choose in their final qualification theses a topic focused on either the field of experimental chemistry or theoretical chemistry (computational chemistry). The graduate is thus prepared both for independent work in the field of materials science and for application in industrial practice, respectively. Graduates can also continue in the follow-up master's study in the field of most chemical disciplines, especially those focused on materials research both in the sphere of universities and technical colleges in the Czech Republic and abroad. |
