Course content
Lessons 1-30 in the textbook Štěpánka Pařízková: Ruština pro začátečníky a samouky, 2007, including grammar; Russian life and institutions covered in the university textbook Stěpanova, L., Vychodilová, Z.: Zeměpisné a politické reálie Ruska, Olomouc 2005; reading and translation of technical texts according to the students? field of study.

Learning outcomes
An exam after a continuous 6 semester course of Russian for students who want to study Russian as an additional foreign language. Those who already have intermediate knowledge of Russian may sign up for the exam without taking the 6 semester course.
Students have a command of the vocabulary and grammar in lessons 1-30 in the textbook Štěpánka Pařízková: Ruština pro začátečníky a samouky, 2007, and are familiar with Russian life and institutions as covered in the university textbook Stěpanova, L., Vychodilová, Z.: Zeměpisné a politické reálie Ruska, Olomouc 2005. Students are able to read and translate technical texts according to their field of study. Their knowledge of Russian corresponds to the A2-B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of Russian corresponding at least to the A2-B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, knowledge of Russian grammar covered in the textbook Štěpánka Pařízková: Ruština pro začátečníky a samouky, 2007 (lessons 1-30), knowledge of Russian life and institutions. The course is not intended for the native Russian speakers or the students who come from countries where Russian is an official language.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam

A written test + an oral exam (students must show solid knowledge of Russian grammar as well as vocabulary and conversational topics, as covered in the textbook Pařízková, Š.: Ruština pro začátečníky a samouky, 2007 + knowledge of Russian life and institutions + a 10 page translation of a technical text according to the student?s field of study).
