Topics: 1. Gynaecology and obstetrics. 2. Oncology. 3. Gastroenterology. 4. Neurology. 5. Surgery (pre-operative checks, post-operative treatment, monitoring the patient). 6. Infectious diseases. 7. Renal disorders and treatment. 8. Therapies, radiology, physiotherapy. Prevention. 9. Presentations and research.

Learning outcomes |
The aim is to deepen language competencies (speaking, reading with comprehension, listening, writing) at B2 level of CEFR. The subject focuses on the language and professional vocabulary for paramedics.
Students are able to describe concepts related to different medical specializations, they know practical vocabulary (i.e. used in patient´s assessment, history taking, medical instruments and equipment). They are able to use common English terms as well as professional English terms related to emergencies and chronic diseases. Students know the grammar typical for professional language. They are able to read and comprehend professional texts. |
