Topics: 1.Skeletal system (skeleton, bone structure, joints, skull, spine, ribs, pelvis, hands and feet). Bone disorders. Joint disorders. 2.Muscular system. Muscle and tendon disorders. 3.Nervous system. Cerebrovascular disorders, brain and spinal cord disorders. 4.Endocrine system. 5.Cardiovascular system. Coronary artery disease. Circulatory and heart-rate disorders. 6.Respiratory system (lungs, gas exchange). Respiratory disorders. 7.Lymph and immune systems (inflammatory response, allergies, HIV-AIDS). Autoimmune and lymphatic disorders. 8.Digestive system. Digestion. Nutrients and metabolism. Upper and lower digestive tract disorders. 9.Urinary system (kidney structure, filtration in the kidneys). Urinary/kidney disorders. 10.Reproduction and birth. Growth and development (age-related conditions). Inheritance. Inherited disorders.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to deepen language competencies (speaking, reading with comprehension, listening, writing) at B1 level of CEFR. The subject focuses on the language and professional vocabulary for paramedics.
Students are able to describe structure and physiology of body systems, they are able to use common English terms as well as professional English terms related to emergencies and chronic diseases. Students know the grammar typical for professional language.
