Course content
|
Topics focused on various areas of physician-patient communication (history-taking, examining a patient, treatment); more general topics focused on medicine (first aid, medical ethics); expanding medical vocabulary with an emphasis on physician-patient communication.

Learning outcomes
|
Extension of the previously acquired knowledge of general English, extension of grammatical knowledge with special attention paid to English for specific purposes; fundamental medical terminology; acquisition of the ability to read, understand and translate medical texts in English.
Students will be able to use professional English in their studies and future medical practice.

Prerequisites
|
Secondary-education level of English - B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. Knowledge obtained in English 1 (CJA/VCA21).

Assessment methods and criteria

Active participation in seminars, passing all tests throughout the course, passing the final exam.
