Key learning outcomes The European Union block provides students with comprehensive insight into significant aspects of the field of European Studies. Students will be given both theoretical background as well as practical knowledge about European integration, institutions, politics, processes and actors. International Relations represents another important platform which will give students further understanding of the traditional IR research approach as taught in Western European countries and the US. Moreover, this field also includes specific and internal focus on material, security, economical and other factors that describe continuity and changes in international relations. Also, the European Contemporary History block is essential for a proper understanding of current political developments and various research difficulties. This block relies on the contextual interpretation of European history from WWI to the modern era. However, it does not follow the chronological development of certain countries. Beyond theoretical knowledge, this Programme allows students to gain skills in individual as well as team analytical work and basic/intermediate quantitative and qualitative methods of Political Science research. Finally, students will deepen their language skills, esp. English language, as this is a necessary component for success in this field.
