| Course content |
|
The lessons of "Introduction to clinical medicine" will equip the student with the ability of a professional and sensitive contact with the patient. The students will adopt all aspects of history evaluation and physical examination (aspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation) in internal medicine. One part of the practical training aimed at specific issue of physical examination of individual organ systems will contain also introductory theoretical seminars and repeating microlectures dedicated to individual branches of internal medicine, and seminars dealing with basic laboratory and complementary diagnostic methods. Such training should prepare the students for individual clinical work. The clinical anatomy is a part of this lessons.

The aim of the "Introduction to clinical medicine" is to adopt complete clinical examination, i.e. the history of the patient as well as a detailed physical examination. The student should be able to express properly the findings and write down acquired data, to work out admission record, and to compile working clinical diagnosis and an examination plan within internal medicine.
The ability to adopt practical skills within the lessons of Introduction to clinical medicine will train the student for independent performance of basic internal examination in a range, which enables a following specialized tuition of individual internal medicine branches. |

Oral exam
The 15 lectures and 15 practical seminars followed by successful test colloquium after semester 4 are mandatory for the completion of Introduction to clinical medicine. |
