Learning outcomes
|
The course aims at intermediate students who are preparing for a study stay abroad. The aim of the course is to enable students understand different types of English accents they can face abroad, to enable them react naturally in common daily situations (starting and closing a small talk, expressing themselves at the doctor's, making a complaint, asking for recommendation, using phraseology when telephoning or opening an acoount in a bank).
The target skills are listening and speaking at level B1-B2.

Prerequisites
|
Students are supposed to have mastered common vocabulary and grammar of level B1 - B2. There will be hardly any space for teaching grammar or intensive studying of vocabulary during the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam
Students must prepare for the classes as required by their teacher and they must participate in an active way. The course is completed by a written and oral part of an exam. The written part will test the skills of listening and knowledge of phrases in typical situations. The oral part of the exam.
