Course content
Lesson: language focus - position of adverbs and adverbial phrases; adverbs and adverbial phrases; word stress and intonation - future perfect and future continuous; the environment, weather, vowel sounds - zero and first conditionals, future time clauses; expressions with 'take'; linked phrases; writing 3 - unreal conditionals; feelings; word stress in three- or four-syllable adjectives; writing 4 - structures after 'wish'; expressing feelings with verbs or -ed/-ing adjectives; sentence rhythm and intonation

Learning outcomes
The objective of VCJ/AIII4 is to develop language skills of general English at level B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages. The course focuses on building vocabulary, re-enforcing grammar, developing reading and listening with understanding and promoting speaking. It works primarily with common English, i.e. the language used in everyday situations by native speakers. The course VCJ/AIII4 can be also used as part of preparation for the Oxford Test of English.
Acquisition of language knowledge on the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
Prerequisites
A minimum language level in English of level B1 of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR) is required. Students are expected to have a good knowledge of basic English grammar, for example they should be able to form and use all tenses and comparative and superlative adjectives or adverbs, etc. To check which level of the CEFR you are currently at, we recommend that you use online tests, for example at: http://examenglish.com/leveltest/index.html

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam

Students are required to pass the credit test with a minimum result of 70% and pass an oral exam successfully. A student may be absent twice per semestr. The final grade is based on the result of the credit tests in AIII3 and AIII4, active participation during the semester and the result of the oral examination.
