Course content
Lesson: language focus - question formation; working out meaning from context; intonation, showing interest - auxiliary verbs; the ... the ... + comparatives; compound adjectives; intonation and sentence rhythm - present perfect simple and continuous; illnesses and injuries; writing 1 - using adjectives as nouns, adjective order; clothes and fashion; vowel sounds - narrative tenses, past perfect continuous; so/such ... that; air travel; pronunciation of regular and irregular past forms, sentence rhythm; writing 2

Learning outcomes
The objective of VCJ/AIII3 is to develop language skills of general English at level B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages. The course focuses on building vocabulary, re-enforcing grammar, developing reading and listening with understanding and promoting speaking. It works primarily with common English, i.e. the language used in everyday situations by native speakers. The course VCJ/AIII3 can be also used as part of preparation for the Oxford Test of English.
Acquisition of language knowledge on the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
Prerequisites
A minimum language level in English of level B1 of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR) is required. Students are expected to have a good knowledge of basic English grammar, for example they should be able to form and use all tenses and comparative and superlative adjectives or adverbs, etc. To check which level of the CEFR you are currently at, we recommend that you use online tests, for example at: http://examenglish.com/leveltest/index.html

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Students are required to participate actively in class and pass the credit test with a minimum result of 70%. A student may be absent twice per semestr.
