Course content
Lesson: language focus 3B The position of adverbs and adverbial phrases; word stress and intonation; reading for pleasure; following the events of a story; comparing reading habits 4A Future perfect and future continuous; weather; vowel sounds; scanning for examples; using existing knowledge to tune in to advice; comparing values and actions; discussing weather and climate 4B Zero and first conditionals, future time clauses; expressions with take; linked phrases; identifying the main idea in a paragraph; understanding detail in an interview; listening to a complete summary; assessing attitude, writing: a for and against post 5A Unreal conditionals; feelings, word stress in three- or four- syllable adjectives; recognizing positive and negative experiences; reacting to the events of a true story; identifying mood, and feelings; checking factual information; giving reasons for choices 5B Wish clauses for the present and future, wish clauses expressing past regrets; expressing feelings with verbs or -ed/-ing adjectives; sentence rhythm and intonation; understanding the results of research

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course VCJ/AIII4 s to develop language skills at the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), focusing on English as it is actually used by native speakers in everyday life. Students will deepen their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary and improve all four language skills speaking, reading, listening, and writing. The course also includes an introduction to common conversational phrases typical of spoken English. This course may also serve as part of preparation for the Oxford Test of English.
Acquisition of language knowledge on the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
Prerequisites
A minimum language level in English of level B1 of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR) is required. Students are expected to have a good knowledge of basic English grammar, for example they should be able to form and use all tenses and comparative and superlative adjectives or adverbs, etc. To check which level of the CEFR you are currently at, we recommend that you use online tests, for example at: http://examenglish.com/leveltest/index.html

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam

To successfully complete the course, students are required to achieve a minimum score of 70% in the credit test, attend classes actively, and pass an oral exam. A maximum of 2 absences per semester are permitted. The final grade for this course reflects performance in the credit tests in AIII3 and AIII4 and the result of the oral examination.
