The content of the lecture is an overview of the auditory pathology of the hearing analyzer, familiarization with the basic diagnostic methods to determine the type and degree of auditory defects. Basic information on the use of cochlear implants, hearing aids and the application of basic technical compensatory aids that people with hearing impairment are most commonly used in everyday life as well as in the educational process and other specific situations. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to present the current view of people with hearing impairment as a language and cultural minority - an explanation of the phenomenon of the Deaf with a large N. Part of the course will also be familiar with communication techniques (sign language, Czech, tactile sign language, Lorm's alphabet etc.) . The main thing is to acquire the basics of sign language in the practical level, which are necessary for communication with children with hearing impairment in the competence in visual-motor systems in the context of inclusive education. At the same time, the personal and social competences of future teachers are strengthened.
