Learning outcomes
The subject will present the basic theses and topics of special pedagogical support for people with limited mobility, including a brief overview of somatopedia as a scientific field and its interdisciplinary connections. The subject is designed mainly in the form of a theoretical explanation, which is complemented by practical demonstrations, examples from practice and discussion. Thematic areas: ? The field of somatopedia, its basic categories, historiography and interdisciplinary connections. ? Comprehensive concept of rehabilitation (terminology, legislation, concept), rehabilitation in the medical, social and work areas. ? Institutional support for persons with mobility limitations in the education, social services and healthcare sectors. ? Psychosocial and health aspects of limited mobility (examples of physical disabilities and illnesses, the process of coping with a disability and serious illness, the visibility of the disability and its social impact on the wearer, family and partner issues of people with limited mobility). ? Counseling and education of people with limited mobility (education within the framework of inclusive trends, legislation and curriculum documents, educational forms, methods, means and processes). Educational, therapeutic, compensatory, interactional and stimulating methods used for people with limited mobility (basal stimulation, structured learning, Snoezelen, positioning and transfers, use of creative means in education, alternative and augmentative communication, behaviorally oriented procedures, etc.).
