The total scope of the course is 27 hours, of which 12hours are contact and 15 hours are non-contact. Characteristics of scientific research and research in health care The proportion of paramedics in research activities The history of research in health care Terminology research Phases of research process Research methodology Research implementation Presentation of results of research activities, publication of research results Ethical principles of scientific work

Learning outcomes
The course is designed as a theoretical-practical and assumes the application of knowledge and skills acquired in subjects. Assumes a certain level of creativity. Directed students to the basics of critical scientific thinking: understanding the need for and importance of the scientific approach in paramedic practice. They will learn the basic steps of the research process, selection of appropriate methods, processing and evaluation. Course content focuses on the implementation of the results of research activities and new knowledge in clinical practice, and to promote the use of evidence-based practice.
Student is able to -describe the characteristics of research process -learn the basics of critical scientific thinking -implementation of the results of research in health care and new developments in the field into clinical practice -use the principles of evidence-based practice -respect the ethical principles of scientific work

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

Active involvment in class. The elaboration and defense of essay regarding the implementation of the results of research and new knowledge in the field of paramedic or nursing in clinical practice - the use of evidence based practice. 80% attendance.
