Course content
Defining the main topics of the subject: - nursing assessment of children of different age categories in relation to individual illnesses and emergencies - providing nursing care for children with respiratory, digestive tract, excretory system, nervous system, - providing educational work and education of the hospitalized child.

Learning outcomes
The subject is part of a complex of subjects from clinical nursing. It is conceived as a theoretical and practical unit focused on the latest findings from nursing care in pediatrics. It introduces students to the development of a healthy and ill child with regard to his or her individual needs and the level of psychomotor development achieved in individual ages. Provides a set of information on disease prevention, on childhood diseases across the spectrum and on urgency in children.
After completing the course the student is able to: - describe the characteristics of each child's age - describe the most common diseases of the respiratory tract, digestive tract, excretory system, nervous system and urgent conditions of childhood - assess the state of the needs of a child of different age categories in relation to individual illnesses and urgent conditions - characterize nursing care in children with diseases of the respiratory tract, digestive tract, excretory system, nervous system, game activities and education of the hospitalized child
