Course content
Main topics: - health care focused on prevention - historical overview - programs Health for all until the 21st century (WHO, national variants), Health 2030 - nursing in the primary sector - home care - history, forms of home care, spectrum of services provided - home care agencies - client assessment, evaluation tools, documentation - nursing process in community conditions, care for the elderly - community nursing care for mental health - community nursing care for persons at risk of social exclusion

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as a theoretical-practical unit. It is part of the complex of subjects from clinical nursing and is closely related to the subject Practical teaching 6. Students will learn about nursing care in the community environment and in the home environment. It characterizes community care and its importance in relation to the promotion of community, family and individual health in relation to international and national health programmes. It focuses on home care provided to a variety of patients in their natural environment.
On completion of the course students will know the spectrum of health services provided in the primary sector and the organization of nursing care in home care agencies in the community; they will be able to identify specific factors of societal changes affecting the provision of the primary health care; they will be capable of informing clients and the public about institutions and programmes that deal with health promotion, health education in the particular community or region.
