Course content
Jewish and Christian monuments of 19th and 20th century Emperor Joseph II, Patent of Tolerance (1781). The religious situation in Bohemia and Moravia during the 19th and 20th century. Architectural styles. Religious monuments, their importance and historical, artistic and spiritual value. Jewish religion and important historical events linked with Judaism in Bohemia and Moravia during the 19th and 20th century. The important Jewish ghettos and synagogues. Christianity and typology of Christian denominations. Catholicism, Protestant Churches, orthodoxy. Significant religious monuments of the Christian Churches and religious societies. The course aims to present basic historical events linked with Judaism and Christianity in Bohemia and Moravia during the 19th and 20th century and extend the knowledge about Jewish and Christian monuments in this period.
The general knowledge of significant and important monuments of Judaism and Christianity.
Prerequisites
The general knowledge about the history of the 19th century.
