Course content
Belarus: historical and cultural portrait. 1. Introduction. History of "Belarus"? 2. Rus and the first states. (10th-13th centuries). 3. Grand duchy of Lithuania as a medieval state of Belarusians. (13th-16th centuries). 4. Res Publica of two nations. (1569-1795). 5. First hundred years with Russia (End of 18th- 19th century). 6. Belarusian national movement. Failure and success. (End of19. století-1921). 7. Soviet Belarus (1919-1939). 8. Non-Soviet Belarus (1921-1939). 9. Bloodland. (1939-1945). 10. Soviet modernization.
