Course content
|
The course is concieved to be of two semestres span (Winter term ? Historical Film 1; Summer term ? Historical Film 2). In the introductory part of the course students will be provided with an opportunity to become acquainted with the problematic of historical film as a way of displaying history, alternative to historical text, on the theoretical level. The 2nd part of the course will be practical: the students in cooperation with the teachers will make their own historical movie.

Learning outcomes
|
Aim of the course is to provide students with insight to the requirements of narratives of historical film as an alternative to scholarly text.
By the end of the course the students schould be able to: 1) criticize historical movies in the relevant way; 2) express themselves as historians i the film media.

Prerequisites
|
Students should log in to both consecutive courses: Historical Film 1 and Historical Film 2.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary)
Reading of assigned literature and watching of assigned movies,active participation in the class (discussion, participation on a making of the film).
