Course content |
Definition of Nursing. The history of nursing and nursing education; Nursing philosophy, its current conception, organization and management of nursing services in the Czech Republic; nursing process, its characteristics, each phase (anamnesis, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care) and nursing documentation; theory of human needs and the needs of patients; Communication in nursing; home care philosophy, its history and current profile of home care agencies in the Czech Republic; establishment, resources and funding of home care agencies; personnel and material - technical equipment of home care agencies; work with the client within the home care agency;philosophy, history and forms of hospice care; customer care hospice focusing on the biopsychosocial and spiritual needs.

Learning outcomes |
Theoretical and practical preparation of the student for general care of the sick, with focus on home care.
After completing the course, students should be able to: - Define the concept of nursing, its history and philosophy, - characterize the nursing process and its individual stages, - categorize human needs, - justify the specifics of communication with the client, - explain the nature and operation of home care agencies, - describe the history and forms of hospice care. |
