Course content
1. Definition of the subject of ethics. Philosophical - historical roots and sources of health care ethics. 2. Codes and principles. Rights and duties. 3. Ethical principles 4. Ethical problems and their solutions. Ethical dilemmas. 5. Big and small ethical issues 6. Informed consent and mandatory confidentiality 7. Organ and gamete donation 8. Palliative care, death, dying and euthanasia

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
  • Homework for Teaching - 10 hours per semester
  • Attendace - 8 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Together with Ethics the subject focuses on communication techniques with regard to moral aspects of profession performance and to communicative strategies employed in communication with individual age groups.
Ability to work with text and discuss in a team.
Prerequisites
Admission to study at the university.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Performing practical tasks arising from individual topics in relation to the profession of paramedic. Preparation of a seminar paper.
