Course content
Okruhy: 1. Hospital team, hospital wards. 2. Hospital admissions (A&E, referral), taking history. 3. Pain and pain management 4. Symptoms. 5. Hygiene. 6. Medication, aids. Pharmacy. 7. Monitoring the patient. Vital signs. 8. First aid. CPR. 9. Death and dying.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to deepen language competencies (speaking, reading with comprehension, listening, writing) at B1 level of CEFR. The subject focuses on the language and professional vocabulary for paramedics.
Students are able to use common English medical terms (esp.the language used in surgery, hospital, during patients examination, taking records, describing medical ibnstruments and equipment, related to monitoring the patients). Students are able to apply their knowledge in communication with patients, they can read and comprehend professional texts, they master grammar typical of technical language.
