Course content
Conversation on more or less controversial topics from medicine (euthanasia, abortion, plastic surgery) as well as more general topics overlapping into medicine (legalizing drugs, corruption); practising communication skills in various situations (educating a patient, delivering bad news); oral presentation of a topic selected by the student. Working with English medical texts, translations from Czech into English, listening activities.

Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
Extension of the knowledge of medical terminology; learning to use various types of medical texts; acquisition of the ability to discuss professional issues; extension of other basic language skills (listening, writing).
Students will be able to use professional English in their studies and future medical practice.
Prerequisites
Secondary-education level of English - B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. Knowledge obtained in Angličtina 1 and Angličtina 2.
