Course content
This course develops previously obtained experiences in the course "Cultivation of experimental plants I" and in the course "Medicinal plants" (BOT/LER). Topics: Sexual reproduction of plants, seed dormancy, vitality, regeneration protocols of medicinal plants; Vegetative reproduction of medicinal plants; Processing and use of medicinal plants.

Learning outcomes
This course follows the course "Cultivation of experimental plants 1" (BOT/PRAP) and develops the topics presented in the course "Medicinal plants" (BOT/LER).
After sttending the course, student should be able to: - determine the species of medicinal plants (Czech, scientific names); - grow/reproduce (generatively, vegetatively) selected species of medicinal plants; - design and realize the method of the processing of medicinal plants according to the content of secondary metabolites and their effects.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of botany (plant morphology, taxonomy), knowledge of wild plant species commonly occurring in the Czech Republic.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Seminar Work

Knowledge of topics presented by lectures, in practical exercises and in the recommended literature; 100% participation in practical exercises, work out the protocols from practical exercises, correct determination (Czech, scientific names) of prsented medicinal plants or their parts.
