Course content
1st Civil War 1946-1949 2nd Establishment of the PRC and its consolidation, the Korean War 3rd First five-year 4th Great Leap Forward and the split in the leadership Yan'anském 5th Cultural Revolution - manic phase 6th Cultural Revolution - depressive phase 7th The death of Mao Zedong and the transfer of power 1976-1978 8th Forward on modernization 1978-1982, Release, and the crisis comes 1983-1988 9th The events at Tiananmen Square and their implications to the present 10th History of Taiwan as a separate province 1949-2007 11th Political developments after 1989 12th Societal transformation after 1989

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the problems of modern China after the Second St.. War to the present. The lecture also introduces a basic bibliography on the issue of modern China, while China is historiographical and cultural terminology. Emphasis is put on the connotations of the historical events and cultural phenomena, their interpretation in Chinese and world scientific literature. An integral part of the course is also referred to the problems of history and present of Czech-China relations (foreign, cultural, military, etc.).
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the problems of modern China after the Second St.. War to the present. The lecture also introduces a basic bibliography on the issue of modern China, while China is historiographical and cultural terminology.

The course is designed for students II. Block bachelor study branch CHINESE PHILOLOGY.
