Key learning outcomes The programme aims to educate a new generation of experts capable of predicting legal challenges and threats in the digital environment and designing models of legal regulation that will counter emerging problems, prevent threats, or eliminate their consequences. At the same time, their qualifications will enable them to push the boundaries of knowledge and understanding of the digital technology phenomenon and to contribute to the professional discourse in this area. Specifically, graduates will be equipped with an excellent in-depth knowledge of legal institutes, principles, and rules related to digital technologies, including selected cross-sectoral contexts and connections with European and international law. They will be able to use this knowledge to independently identify and analyze legal problems in specific practical situations and propose solutions, including possible regulatory approaches. It will also be essential that they are equipped with a basic knowledge of software engineering, information systems design, computer security, computer graphics, and user interface. A common problem in legal research and education is the high level of abstraction, where there is a lack of detailed communication and information sharing between the legal cluster (as regulator) and the regulated areas. A programme implemented in collaboration between legal experts and IT experts will overcome this barrier and bring mutual benefits - an understanding of digital technology functionalities for legal experts as well as orientation in the principles of legal regulation for IT experts. In addition to providing quality education for the next generation of professionals, the programme is also intended to create an excellent research environment. Already during their studies, PhD students will be motivated and encouraged to engage in research activities; the programme will include motivation to form research groups, the development of a PhD hub, and support for international research.
