Course content
It will deal with the following topics: 1. Methods of social education 2. Prevention - basic terminology, types of prevention, target groups, principles of effective primary prevention etc. 3. Prevention - Minimal school prevention programme/strategy - its characteristics, and preparation, evaluation. 4. Education in a multicultural society as a current issue. 5. Situation of ethnic groups in the Czech Republic and their social exclusion. 6. Migration and (i)migrants and their situation in the Czech Republic. 7. Migration and (i)migrants and their situation in the Czech Republic - the situation of refugees in the CR. 8. Multicultural education.

Learning outcomes
The students will understand the preventive function in social pedagogy, as defined, properly explain types of prevention and - according to a proper analysis of the environment - they will be able apply types of prevention for children and youth to practice and create suitable preventive activities (including the minimum preventive program) for these groups choice. Students will also be able justify the choice of activities and educational process. On the basis of studying the topic concerning education in a multicultural society, students should be able to remember (define) the basic concepts of multicultural education and understand it. They will be able to understand the situation of migrants and minorities in the Czech Republic and in the world and creatively work with the following information to support intercultural education of children and the youth in different variety of facilities. Based on the movie and authentic articles they will be able to assess the environmental situation of another ethnicity, religion, etc., to understand their own feelings related to this issue and to work creatively with this understanding and information in their social and educational work. The level of knowledge and skills will be tested in tasks and tests, student acquires them after studying the submitted study texts, after reading the recommended literature and participating in the activities during the tutorials. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
After passing this subject students will know and use appropriately different types of methods of social education activities. Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Active participation in the seminars (student can be absent three lessons at the most, in case of being absent more times, he/she cannot take the credit test), students are due to actively participate in seminars, handing in short tasks on time on LMS Edis (the task list will be given during the first lesson as well as on Edis, student is due to have his/her tasks aprroved one week latest before the exam, in case of not handing in the tasks or in case the teacher does not accept the short tasks, the student cannot take the exam test) passing exam test (at least 70%). The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
