Course content
The course is focused on understanding the basic principals of bird conservation. It will be introduced by an ecological background to develop theoretical basics of bird conservation with the main focus on determinants of both spatial and temporal patterns in bird abundance, distribution and species richness. In the next step, we will review major factors threatening bird biodiversity and we will try to determine potential routes mitigating these threats. Then we will focus on general fundaments of the most important techniques for bird conservation. In the final step, we will learn the lessons for conservation practice based on the relevant case studies.
