Learning outcomes
To introduce students to the diversity, ecology, and identification of the most common organisms in the Adriatic coastal zone and to teach them to conduct basic observations, sampling, and documentation of marine biota safely and responsibly in their natural environment.
The student recognizes major groups and common representatives of Adriatic coastal fauna and flora, characterizes their ecological requirements and habitat associations, and applies appropriate observation and sampling methods. The student safely sorts and documents macroscopic and microscopic samples and follows the principles of marine environmental protection.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the systematics, anatomy, morphology, and ecology of invertebrates and other marine organisms; physical capacity for fieldwork and compliance with water-safety requirements. Scuba diving is permitted only when the relevant qualification and safety conditions are met.
Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student performance
Active participation in theoretical and practical activities, compliance with safety and conservation rules, maintenance of a field record, identification of the prescribed set of organisms, and successful written or oral assessment of the principal biological relationships.
