Course content
A Five-day field excursion in Zoology. The excursions take place in central and southern Moravia. Part of the practice is devoted to aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. 1. Different methods of animal collecting and capture are presented. 2. Determination of animal taxa is trained. 3. The animals are demonstrated in relation to their environment and communities. 4. Typical species for particular communities are presented.

Learning outcomes
Familiarization of students in the form of field trips with the participation of specialists from zoological disciplines (hydrobiology, entomology, vertebratology) with important taxa and localities of their occurrence. Practical testing of zoological research methods.
Student should be able to (after attending the course): - use methods of field sampling - describe taxonomical system of animals - describe biology and ecology of selected taxa - identify important taxa - recognize major types of animal communities and their typical taxa.
Prerequisites
Elementary knowledges of basic and systematic zoology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Credit: 100% attendance, practical determination nad its systematics - correctly determine at least 11 taxa out of 15.
