Learning outcomes
|
1. Understand and explain, based on historical context and fundamental principles and concepts, the importance of environmental law as a key tool for environmental protection at various interconnected levels of governance (international, European, national, regional, local). 2. Identify the main actors involved in environmental governance at the international and European levels, identify and apply information on opportunities for public participation in environmental protection, list the sources of EU environmental law, identify the legal basis of EU environmental directives, and apply the relevant provisions of the EU founding treaties (Treaty on European Union and Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union), 3. Identify challenges related to the proper implementation and effective enforcement of environmental law at the international and European levels. 4. Apply the knowledge gained in the course to solve a practical case study.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Seminar Work, Written exam
During the semester, students work on three main activities, which are graded on a point system. A maximum of 100 points can be earned: E-learning tests ? the maximum number of points that can be earned from e-learning tests is 40. By successfully completing the e-learning tests, students will have the opportunity to review the course content and demonstrate that they have met the course learning outcomes. Portfolio ? the portfolio will consist of students' work on various topics and should demonstrate that they have met the learning outcomes. The maximum number of points for the portfolio is 40. Conference presentation ? at the end of the course, there will be a final consultation in the form of a conference, where students will have the opportunity to present the topic from their portfolio that interested them the most. A maximum of 20 points can be earned for the presentation.
