The aim of the course is to enhance student research activity. Among other things, the course builds upon the fact that during their study students produce seminar papers and other written work which, in the case that they meet certain criteria, can serve as a basis for a competing work in a research paper competition. Students will get acquainted with the scientific research methods within the field of jurisprudence, learn the logical structuring of professional legal texts and the application of the referencing system. They will also extend their specialised knowledge within selected legal domains and train their argumentation as well as presentation skills that are essential to a lawyer. Students will be able to consult lecturers. The course does not include regularly taught seminars.
Acquired competence (knowledge, skills, values): Students will acquire the ability to work independently on specialized legal text, namely defining research questions, analyzing the legal problem finding resources, their incorporation into the text, use of expert legal terminology, the legal arguments and formulating their own research findings . At the same time significantly deepen knowledge of the area to be within the technical text devote even broader societal context. |

Assessment methods and criteria |
Seminar Work
In order to get the credit students are required to participate in the Student Research and Professional Activities Competition (SVOČ), i.e. submit written work meeting the given requirements and participate in the oral defense of the competing paper. |
