Students of MA programme European Studies with Emphasis on European Law had studied BA programmes with various backround, therefore their initial knowledge of Czech legal system is not at the same level. The aim of the course is to provide them with basic overview in this area. The student will be acquainted with the basic principles, institutions and legal acts of the main legal branches. The course reflects the fact that Europaen law is in its own way predominantly also the Czech law, therefore knowledge gained in the course will be used during other courses as well (e.g. European Penal Law, European Environmental Law), where the students could skip the introductory part. The sourse is tied with the course Legal Theory, where the students explore the basic legal introductions and tools. On the other hand, the topics discussed in obligatory separate sourses (Contitutional Law, International Public Law) do not form part of this course.
In this subject, students will acquire theoretical knowledge in the various fundamental branches of law (private, criminal, administrative, constitutional and legal theory).
