The aim of the exam VCJ/PGSJ English language for PhD study is to make sure that any PhD student has English language skills at B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Foreign Languages. The exam tests listening, reading, writing skills and also speaking skills in the form of a presentation in English language. Students can use the offer of the Department of Foreign Languages and attend language training according to their language needs.

Students have to register in STAG for VCJ/PGAJ. The written part of the exam is registered as a credit test (zápočet před zkouškou), the oral part of the exam is in STAG an exam (zkouška). Students are obliged to submit two weeks before the exam the slides of their presentation, an abstract (max 200 words) of the presentation and the list of 30-50 key terms including their phonetic transcription in IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet)and their definition, 2 weeks in advance. The exam VCJ/PGAJ English for Ph.D. study takes place five times during an academic year. |
