The objective of VCJ/AV2 is to systematically develop the language skills of Academic English. It focuses on teaching students to orientate in scientific texts, to improve their listening and writing skills, and to extend their knowledge of academic vocabulary at level B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages.

| Prerequisites |

Students must have a minimum language level in English of level B2 of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR). The prerequisite is completion of VCJ/AV1. To check which level of the CEFR you are currently at, we recommend that you use online tests, for example at http://examenglish.com/leveltest/index.html.

| Assessment methods and criteria |

Written exam
Students are required to attend the classes although they may be absent twice per semester and they must participate in an active way. They must prepare for the classes as required by their teachers. They must successfully pass the final graded exam. The final grade is based on the result of the written tests in AV1 and in AV2 and on active participation during the semester. |
