The aim of the course is to gain an overview of the importance of hearing and auditory perception and the phenomenon of hearing impairment, which are the primary factors influencing the nature of educational intervention for individuals with hearing impairment. The content of the course includes information from the fields of audiology, phoniatrics and otorhinolaryngology, the knowledge of which is a prerequisite for solving questions of deafpedic theory and practice within the framework of a multidisciplinary approach to individuals with hearing impairment, it pays attention to the anatomical characteristics of the auditory analyzer, the physiological regularities of auditory perception, the basics of acoustics and etiology pathological deviations in the field of auditory perception. The content of the course also includes a description of the development of terminology in the field of socialization, a view of the integration of people with hearing impairment into the majority society, an analysis of individual directions of integration and inclusion and an evaluation of procedures in the field of school integration, the specificity of the socialization process of people with hearing impairment in the social, cultural and work areas following the current system of legislative security. An integral part of the course is the issue of the Deaf as members of the linguistic and cultural community. The course also includes an overview of the possibilities of using modern information technologies and technical compensatory aids in interpersonal and pedagogical communication with individuals with hearing impairment, in particular the definition of individual categories of multimedia technologies and their application to the educational process of individuals with hearing impairment, a description of technical compensatory aids in terms of their properties and methods of use.
