Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to obtain and demonstrate an up-to-date overview of communication systems and their role in educational intervention and interpersonal communication for people with hearing impairment. The content page of the course provides up-to-date information on the theoretical foundations of visual-motor communication systems, analyzes the possibilities of their use in the education of individuals with hearing impairment, compares the selection of individual forms of visual-motor communication systems depending on their practical application and specifies the methods of their translation. The content of the subject is also an expert view on the prerequisites for the systematic development of the key competences of individuals with hearing impairment through oral communication systems, includes a comparison of methods of acquiring the Czech language from the point of view of language levels, pays attention to psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic factors that influence the development of communication competences of individuals with hearing impairment and specifies the characteristic features of their speech production. By completing the course, the student demonstrates broad knowledge of the issue of interpreting into sign language for the needs of education and training of children, pupils and students with hearing impairments, as well as for the normal use of interpreting in the lives of people with hearing impairments.
