Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to gain a relevant view of the meaning of diagnostics and differential diagnostics, which is the primary prerequisite for applying the basics and theoretical starting points for working with an individual with a visual impairment. The content of the subject is focused on competences, theoretical-methodological aspects, structure, institutes, processes, methods and means of special educational diagnostics for people with visual impairment. The content of the course includes definitional and terminological definitions of diagnostics, differential diagnostics, multidisciplinary and team approach in the diagnostic process for people with visual impairments (ophthalmological, psychological, special pedagogical diagnostics. The content of the course also includes an analysis of special educational diagnostic procedures implemented in individuals with visual impairments from the point of view of objectivity, reliability and validity, the specifics of pediatric and adult diagnostics, special educational typhoid diagnostics as a result of multidisciplinary cooperation of specialists, and differential diagnosis as a starting point for working with individuals with visual and other associated disabilities. After completing the course, the student will be able to apply the acquired knowledge relevantly in his scientific research and development activities and within the scientific debate on this topic in an international context.
