The discipline presents the system of classification of technical aids designed for persons with mobility impairment as described by selected authors of relevant literature - focus is also on special education and medical aspects. The significance of special education (physical disability education) is explained in relation to the use of technical aids in the context of comprehensive rehabilitation of persons with mobility impairment. The use of technical aids is explained for age categories of persons with mobility impairment and includes the resorts of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic. The legislative framework (and procedure) of funding the provision of technical aids is described. The significance (in terms of reeducation, compensation and rehabilitation) of the use of technical aids for the users and their narrow and broad social environment is explained.
