The discipline presents general perspectives of human normality and deviations from this (psychological) category. The specialized part of the discipline provides an overview of the specifics of mental conditions, processes and qualities in the most common types of impairment, primarily in children and adolescents. It also presents the area of mental development and psychological aspects of educating children with various types of impairment or children under threatening conditions. The students will be knowledgeable about the main theoretical issues in the area of abnormal psychology with regard to intersections with the issues of developmental and social psychology, and will be able to use this knowledge in teaching in various types and levels of schools, and in their scientific work.
