The objective of the discipline is to present a relevant perspective of the significance of diagnostics and differential diagnostics, which is the primary prerequisite for the application of the basic and theoretical principles in the process of care for individuals with hearing impairment. In terms of content, the discipline covers an analysis of special education diagnostic procedures designed for persons with hearing impairment in terms of objectiveness, reliability and validity, specifics of diagnoses of children and adults, special education diagnostics of persons with hearing impairment as a result of multidisciplinary cooperation of professionals, and differential diagnostics as the primary component of working with persons with hearing impairment and related impairment.
