Course content
The content of this course covers knowledge of voice disorders, speech sound disorders, rhinolalia, palatalization, stuttering, tumultus sermonis, and symptomatic speech disorders with a focus on ASD.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should be able to: - Gain a deeper understanding of voice disorders, speech resonance, speech fluency, and related forms of impaired communication skills, with a focus on older school age, adolescence, and adulthood. - Navigate the terminology, classification, and intervention of relevant forms and refer to relevant published sources and authors. Topics: - Voice disorders. Anatomy and physiology of phonation. Etiology, symptomatology, classification of voice disorders according to various criteria, specifics of voice disorders in childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age. Prominent figures and literature. - Basics of voice disorder diagnosis. Voice disorders as symptomatic disorders. Prevention of voice disorders, voice hygiene and its principles. The position and possibilities of speech therapists in the intervention of voice disorders within interdisciplinary cooperation - comparison with other countries. - Speech sound disorders. Velopharyngeal insufficiency - terminology, symptomatology, classification, and etiology. Profiling personalities and literature. - Rhinolalia - terminology, classification, etiology, symptomatology, basics of diagnosis and intervention, prevention, and prognosis. Profiling personalities and literature. Diagnostic and didactic material, special methodological, technical, and instrumental aids. Interdisciplinary cooperation. Speech fluency disorders. Stuttering - terminology, etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, basics of intervention, prevention and prognosis. Profiling personalities and literature. Diagnostic and didactic material, special methodological, technical and instrumental aids. Interdisciplinary cooperation. - Tumultus sermonis - terminology, etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, basics of intervention, prevention and prognosis. Profiling personalities and literature. Diagnostic and didactic material, special methodological, technical and instrumental aids. Interdisciplinary cooperation. - Symptomatic speech disorders - terminology and classification. Symptomatic speech disorders in sensory, mental, and somatic disabilities - symptomatology, diagnosis, intervention, prevention, and prognosis. Profiling personalities and literature. Diagnostic and didactic material, special methodological, technical, and instrumental aids. Interdisciplinary cooperation. - Symptomatic speech disorders in autism spectrum disorders, mental and neurotic disorders, neurological diseases. Down syndrome and its consequences in verbal and nonverbal communication. Possibilities of diagnosis and intervention, prevention, and prognosis. Profiling personalities and literature. Diagnostic and didactic materials, special methodological, technical, and instrumental aids. Interdisciplinary cooperation.
After completing the course, students will be familiar with voice disorders, speech sound disorders, rhinolalia, palatalization, stuttering, tumultus sermonis, and symptomatic speech disorders, with a focus on ASD.

Oral exam, Written exam

Requirements for credit include active participation in exercises, completion of individually assigned tasks, and a minimum of 75% success in a written test. Requirements for the exam include an oral knowledge test.
