The theoretical concepts course focuses on issues related to approach, communication, interaction, and the specific needs of clients with disabilities. Rehabilitation interventions for the target group are specific and require good preparation on the part of the staff providing these interventions. The course builds on skills, knowledge, and insights already acquired in other disciplines (primarily special education, psychology, and pedagogy/didactics), with an emphasis on the human needs (especially those of people with disabilities) that are often dysfunctional. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with knowledge from various fields, including special education, health, and social sciences, which, when effectively and efficiently combined, create a solid foundation for the application of a highly professional approach and comprehensive work of a special educator.
