The theoretical concepts course focuses on issues related to access, communication, interaction, and the specific needs of clients with disabilities. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with knowledge from various fields, including special education, health, and social work, which, when effectively and efficiently combined, create a solid foundation for applying a highly professional approach and comprehensive work in special education.
The student will be able to describe intervention in the family of a child with a disability and its specific focus. |

Student performance
- Knowledge will be assessed through discussion of specific examples demonstrating understanding of the topic. - Professional portfolio. - Final written test. - Oral knowledge test. - Students' knowledge will be assessed orally/in writing within the scope of lectures and basic literature. - Study results will be verified through discussions in seminars and ongoing didactic tests in the LMS MOODLE environment. The final output of the course will be a semester paper. - The exercises will involve working with texts and subsequent discussions or debates on current issues. To complete the course, students are required to write an essay or analysis on a selected topic and participate in a subsequent colloquium discussion. - Active participation in class, practice of practical skills - Minimum 80% active participation in exercises, completion of individually assigned tasks. Verification of knowledge through a written test with a minimum pass mark of 75%. |
