The aim of the study discipline is to provide students with basic information from the field of paediatrics, to point out the specifics of paediatrics and its individual branches. The course also includes an introduction to the issues of neonatology, genetics and child development, which are an integral part of this field. Students will acquire general knowledge from these fields in relation to the expected needs of the graduate profile. Teaching theses and content of the subject: ? Introduction to pediatrics, basic division of the field, interdisciplinary classification ? Pediatric propaedeutics ? Child evolution ? Basics of neonatology ? Newborn screening, pathological conditions in the prenatal and perinatal period. Asphyxia in a newborn ? Fundamentals of genetics, the most common genetic diseases of childhood ? Congenital developmental defects in children ? Children's diseases in orthopedics ? Children's diseases in neurology ? Child psychiatry ? Children's diseases in ophthalmology and ENT ?
